Can’t believe it’s October already, but the nights are drawing in and thoughts are turning to cosy log fires, warm duvets …. and the festive season.
Many wedding couples marry during the summer but some just love Christmas and want to combine the two celebrations into one occasion. Here at Yew Lodge Country House, we have hosted several such celebrations in December and they are very special days.
There is one potential dilemma – how to combine your very own wedding colour and styling themes with classic Christmas decorations. It seems to us the key to success is subtlety and one such example is given in the photo. For starters, as well as classic white, the wedding couple included warm orange and gold colours for their wedding, which complemented the gold/sparkly Christmas trees. In the lead up to the wedding, we had several chats with the couple on what would work best and they decided “less is more” and didn’t let the Christmas decorations dominate the whole setting – we agreed this was very wise and worked really well.
Listening carefully to the ideas and imaginations of wedding couples is one of the keys to having a wonderful wedding at Yew Lodge Country House. Each wedding couple has their own unique ideas and wishes and we have the experience of what works well at Yew Lodge Country House to make the best use of the space and facilities, so between us we can design a wedding that is truly individual and special, providing memories to treasure forever!
Naturally, we’re also busy in December with Christmas parties and private dinners. In preparation, the whole team is involved in putting up the decorations – evidence can be found in our Christmas photos in our website Gallery. It typically takes us two full days to complete but, of course, this also includes time for a sneaky mince pie!
